The Melfort Mustangs are excited to announce the commitment of 2004-born defenceman Adam Bourgeois to the club for the 2022/2023 SJHL season.
Bourgeois, listed at 5’11”, 180lbs, split the 2021/2022 season playing with the Cariboo Cougars in British Columbia’s U18 AAA ranks, and the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL.
“Adam is a very solid two-way defenceman,” said Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins. “He reads plays well in his own zone, defends hard, and can create in the offensive zone.”
The Fort St. John product started the 2021/2022 season with the Vipers, playing in 18 games, but was held off the scoresheet. Bourgeois would then play 15 regular season games with the Cougars, scoring one goal and adding six assists for seven points. He would add an assist in two playoff games.
Bourgeois also played one game for the West Kelowna Warriors of the BCHL, and one game with the Summerland Steam of the KIJHL.
